Carlos and Valerie Cruz
Carlos and Valerie Cruz met in a church in Irving, TX in 2005 and were married in 2011. They have one daughter, Mia (2013), who joyfully serves alongside them—singing on the worship team at Iglesia Bautista Evangélica de Macorís (IBEM) and helping lead worship in a local neighborhood chapel. Their family verse is 1 Peter 4:10, which reminds them to faithfully steward the gifts God has given for the good of others.
After serving for several years in their local church, Carlos and Valerie felt a growing desire for missions. During a leadership training in San Pedro de Macorís in 2015, God made clear His call for their family to serve in the Dominican Republic. They moved in January 2016 and have been ministering there ever since.
Their primary ministry is at Las Palmas Christian School, where they share the gospel with hundreds of students and use their administrative and leadership gifts to strengthen Christian education. They also serve actively in IBEM through worship, discipleship, and community outreach. Before moving to the mission field, Carlos served for eight years as Executive Pastor at a church in Richland Hills, Texas.
The Cruz family is sent out of North Point Baptist Church in Carrollton, Georgia, under the leadership of Pastor Lee Wimberly. Their desire is to serve the Lord faithfully, build up the local church, and point the next generation toward Christ.
They are currently seeking individuals, churches, and organizations who desire to partner with what God is doing in the Dominican Republic. If you would like to join their ministry team, please click the “Giving” option below.
