Las Palmas Christian School

Las Palmas Christian School was founded on the belief that a Christ-centered, quality bilingual education should be available to the average family living in and around the community of San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic.  The dream of Las Palmas became reality in 2009 with only 39 students and 5 teachers.  Our best form of advertisement for the school is word of mouth by our satisfied parents and happy students.  God has blessed exponentially over the years and we now have over 500 people on campus everyday including students, teachers, and staff!

Our unique model of teaching gives the students opportunity to read, write, listen, speak and participate in two languages every day.  English, Math and Science classes are taught by North Americans in English with little to no translation of the material.  The curriculum used is published by ABEKA for grades K5-12 and the preschool uses an English curriculum published by Santillana in the Dominican Republic.

The classes of Sociales, Spanish, and Bible are all taught by Dominicans in Spanish.  Since the Spanish and Sociales curriculum is published by a non-Christian organization, the teachers have had workshops on how to integrate the Bible in their lesson planning so that these classes are also taught from a Biblical perspective.

MISSION:  Las Palmas Christian School is an independent Christian School which seeks to provide a biblically based, bilingual-international education to the families in and around the city of San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic.

VISION: With the Word of God as our foundation, Las Palmas Christian School exists to support the local church and to partner with parents to provide a Christ-centered education that:

  • Gives the students the opportunity to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord (Romans 10:9-10)
  • Challenges the students to excel academically (Proverbs 1:7)
  • Provides programs that disciple them to increase in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52)

We are always looking for American teachers that have a heart for missions to come and be a part of our Las Palmas community.  Las Palmas Christian School is a ministry that understands education is a tool to help open doors of opportunity – for a better life – here on earth and throughout eternity.
