BROOKLYN, NEW YORK
New York City’s five boroughs have a population of about 8.5 million people. Over 2.5 million of those people live in Brooklyn. This area is diverse in its people and culture. Brooklyn is home to a variety of religions, with Evangelical Protestants making up less than 8% of the population. Our groups that serve in Brooklyn will partner with local church plants as they share the Gospel and make disciples in this location.
Ministry Opportunities include:
- Outreach events like Block Parties and holiday-themed events
- VBS and children’s ministry
- Evangelism – prayer walking and sharing the Gospel
- Sports ministry – games and/or clinics
- Local church ministry – special events and programs
- Food and clothing distribution
- Light construction projects
- Public school ministry
Leisure Activities include:
- Sightseeing in Manhattan – Times Square area
- Pro Sports Games – Yankees, Mets, Knicks, Nets, etc.
- Broadway shows and musicals
- Museums and art exhibits
- Central ParK
- Statue of Liberty and Empire State building
Travel Info: Groups can fly into LaGuardia (LGA), Kennedy airport (JFK), or Newark (EWR) Groups are responsible for their own ground transportation for this trip. Most groups will not need rental vans – using the subway is sufficient.
