HILDALE, UTAH
Hildale is a border town in southern Utah. The border area surrounding Utah and Arizona is locally known as Short Creek. This area was formerly dominated by a cult called the FLDS. The FLDS was a spin-off from the Mormon religion that still believed in polygamy. Their leader, Warren Jeffs, (who had 79 wives) set himself up as “the prophet” in this town and dictated how everyone lived. After Jeffs went to prison to serve multiple life sentences for marrying underage girls, the town was left without a leader and without hope. These people desperately need Jesus and the hope that only He can bring. Daystar is working with partners in this are to help bring the Gospel to a people who are living in darkness and difficult to reach because of past hurt.
